Jarsalé Fabien | Co-founder of 5pm.fr
I grew up in Brittany and now am living in Nantes. I am a founder of 5PM, which is a multidisciplinary clothing store in Nantes. Playing soccer professionally showed me that curating my image with the press or even the internet was something I was into. I have always been interested in design, fashion, music and magazines. I truly enjoy surrounding myself with people from diverse backgrounds. They expose me to foreign and therefore new perspectives. Discovering different points of view and learning how to adapt to those are very important to me. 5PM is very rewarding, not only professionally but also personally. It taught me various skills from different disciplines. I believe that each person is able to do many jobs and doesn’t have to conform to only one for the rest of their life. It's very fulfilling. There’s never a dull moment, and there’s always room for improvement. I enjoy doing the curating of clothing 6 months in advance. We need to anticipate and make some important decisions. It is, then, interesting to see the people’s reaction to our selection. I also like making people discover my personal vision and atmosphere. I have learned to develop moods through visual languages for social media. I am only starting this adventure and continue to learn every day. It’s important to dare and to believe in your own projects but to also stay aware of reality and grow from past mistakes. Work ethics and discipline remain two essential skills that are applicable to any career in my opinion.
